I can’t say enough about these guys. They are so great it’s unreal. This beautiful Santa Barbara Wedding was at the spectacular 1221 La Vista Rd. house, or I should say mansion. The house actually has a fancy name like “Chateau Something or Other” and is a rental overlooking ALL of Santa Barbara, the Channel & the Mountains. It has a large pool, maybe 20 yards long, an incredible entryway, grand stairway, gigantic deck & on & on & on. The ceremony was kept simple & small, happening early in the day. We took a bit of time to shoot some pics after, then all their friends showed up & the party began.
I shot a ridiculous amount of frames in a very short time. I had been working on a certain style of shot I had in mind for months. It just so happened that the setup fit it like a glove. We shot for all of 3 minutes & the image speaks for itself. I figured I would try one last little trick I thought I just might be able to pull off. They were only too happy to oblige my request & we ended up with this little gem of an image in less than 30 seconds. Fun, fun, fun!!! THIS is why I have the greatest job in the world!
While we were shooting, my immediate thought was, “any couple that will trampoline in full Wedding Attire are the COOLEST couple ever!” The bride had on a bit of a restrictive dress so she got extra props for going for it.
Before the ceremony, we had the schedule setup perfectly so we had time to have fun with the house & create some spectacular images. The entryway is beyond awesome – 14 foot high wrought iron doors with intricate detail! Monochromatic, neutral background & you couldn’t ask for a better setup! Fun, fun, fun in the California Sun!
The Master Bedroom is spacious & looks out over the atrium, to the east, & over the entire Santa Barbara Coast to the west! Spectacular.
The pool is below the main house & features panoramic ocean & mountain views. Gorgeous! You can see the skyline of Santa Barbara off in the distance & the ocean beyond. To the right of this image you can see all of the Santa Barbara coast heading west toward Point Conception.
The atrium of the house with the couples beautiful wedding cake. Later in the evening the lighting in this area was great!
Guys always have to be goofy! We shot some serious ones as well, but of course in the goofy ones the boys have bigger smiles.
Awesome, awesome times. Gotta love this, the happy couple seeing themselves together in the mirror for the first time. You can’t see it, but there were tears all around;)
The Bride’s little Bichon is such a great little dog. The little guy would just walk up & slap you five! Fun!
Truly GREAT WINE was served by the winemaker of Gainey Vineyards. If you don’t know wine, this is some of the best stuff you can get anywhere. Reserve Pinot & a reserve Chard were being poured & the weather was PERFECT. After a glass of wine, everyone was ready for some serious fun.
The beautiful pool with he view toward the west. The sun sets & skims the expanding vistas with beautiful, warm light. Priceless!
The guest-house-slash-tree-house contains a bed, a few dressers & a fantastic view or 2. VERY cool.
Such an awesome, awesome wedding. It was truly a pleasure to be present for such a great event. It was an absolute HONOR to play an important part & have a great time in the process. CONGRATULATIONS GUYS! YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!
